World Wars – World War I & II

Every body knows about the world war I & II. Below is the short summary of these world wars.

World War I:

World War I was a global war that lasted from 1914 to 1918. It involved the majority of the world’s nations, including all the great powers, organized into two opposing military alliances: the Allies (primarily composed of France, Russia, and the United Kingdom) and the Central Powers (primarily composed of Germany, Austria-Hungary, and the Ottoman Empire).

The immediate cause of the war was the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria by a Serbian nationalist in June 1914. The war saw major battles fought in Europe, Africa, and Asia, as well as at sea. It is estimated that the war resulted in the deaths of over 9 million soldiers and 7 million civilians.

The war ended with the defeat of the Central Powers, with Germany being forced to accept responsibility for causing the war and pay reparations to the victorious Allied powers. The Treaty of Versailles, signed on June 28, 1919, officially ended the war.

World War II:

World War II was a global war that lasted from 1939 to 1945. It involved the majority of the world’s nations, including all the great powers, organized into two opposing military alliances: the Allies (primarily composed of the United States, United Kingdom, Soviet Union, and China) and the Axis Powers (primarily composed of Germany, Japan, and Italy).

The immediate cause of the war was Germany’s invasion of Poland in September 1939. The war saw major battles fought in Europe, Africa, and Asia, as well as at sea and in the air. It is estimated that the war resulted in the deaths of over 60 million people, including approximately 20 million military personnel and 40 million civilians.

The war ended with the unconditional surrender of the Axis Powers. The United States dropped atomic bombs on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945, leading to Japan’s surrender and the end of the war. The war led to significant geopolitical changes, including the emergence of the United States and the Soviet Union as superpowers, the creation of the United Nations, and the beginning of the Cold War.
